SFA Fund

Lean / focus: Pro-Haley / Republican (2024 presidential primary)
Founded: 2021
Type: Hybrid PAC (Carey committee)
2024 cycle receipts: ~$89 million

SFA Fund Inc. — formally “Stand for America Fund” — was the principal super PAC supporting former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley’s 2024 Republican presidential primary campaign. It became, for a period in late 2023 and early 2024, the highest-spending super PAC of either party, briefly out-raising even Trump’s MAGA Inc. and dominating advertising in Iowa and New Hampshire.

The PAC was led strategically by Republican political consultant Mark Harris. Its largest donor was WhatsApp co-founder Jan Koum, who contributed $15 million. Hedge-fund founder Ken Griffin and Elliott Management’s Paul Singer each gave $5 million. The fund spent more than $75 million on advertising during the 2023–2024 cycle, primarily on television in early primary states.

After Haley suspended her campaign in March 2024 following Super Tuesday losses, SFA Fund largely wound down. The PAC is included in this directory as an instructive example of a single-candidate super PAC of the modern era — one that out-raised the eventual nominee’s super PAC for a critical stretch, yet ultimately could not overcome Donald Trump’s primary support, and which dissolved as a meaningful political force the moment its candidate exited the race.
